Femmelicious Productions Turns to Kickstarter to Produce "Butchlesque” Back

Sarasota, Florida; January 16, 2012

The boi's are back in town! You loved them last year at The Golden Apple Dinner Theater! Now see some familiar faces, as well as some NEW ones, as "Butchlesque" takes over the Gulfport Casino Ballroom on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.!  A campaign has been launched on Kickstarter, the world’s largest crowd-funding platform for creative projects, to fund the production./system/medias/134/post/butch.jpg?1326809878

Backers of the “Butchlesque” Kickstarter campaign will have an opportunity to receive rewards, such as show tickets, invitations to exclusive parties and an opportunity to mingle with the contestants and creative team after the show.  The campaign will run from January 16, 2012 through February 29, 2012.

Corporate sponsors and non-profit organizations will also be offered rewards for backing the project through special promotional opportunities and advertising considerations in conjunction with the “Butchlesque” event.

“Butchlesque" offers 20 contestants an opportunity to showcase their perception of the “butch” identify while vying for some great prizes.  Winners will be declared in each of these three categories: “Dapper”; “Beefcake”; and “Crowd Favorite”.

The producer, Femmelicious Productions, is committed to developing and staging programs that enrich and celebrate gender diversity. In keeping with that goal, "Butchlesque" lifts up a sub-set of the gay / lesbian community that was often historically maligned in film & print. It allows a segment of the population an opportunity to bask proudly in their identities, rather than languish in the shadows.
