Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ Premieres: Lady Gaga released the first single (and title track) for her coming album “Born This Way.”

The uptempo dance song–which sounds like something people went clubbing to in the 1980s–was written by Lady Gaga and produced by Gaga, Fernando Garibay, and DJ White Shadow.

The new Gaga song, like Madonna’s 1989 dance track “Express Yourself,” is a celebration of individuality. Madonna’s song was about speaking up for yourself; Gaga’s is more about just being yourself.

Gaga tweeted the lyrics for the single last month. The first verse:

“MY MAMA TOLD ME WHEN I WAS YOUNG

WE ARE ALL BORN SUPERSTARS

SHE ROLLED MY HAIR AND PUT MY LIPSTICK ON

IN THE GLASS OF HER BOUDOIR

“THERE’S NOTHIN WRONG WITH LOVIN WHO YOU ARE”

SHE SAID, “‘CAUSE HE MADE YOU PERFECT, BABE”

“SO HOLD YOUR HEAD UP GIRL AND YOU’LL GO FAR,

LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAY”

Gaga is also gracing the March 2011 issue of Vogue. She tweeted “They used to call me rabbit teeth in school, and now I’m a real live VOGUE BEAUTY QUEEN!”

You can hear “Born This Way” here. What do you think of the song? How does it compare to Madonna’s “Express Yourself?” Is Lady Gaga breaking new ground? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
