TIGLFF invites fans to bid on favorite movie quotes and appear in film fest trailer.
The Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival today announced a unique
online fundraising event.
Every year, the film festival shows a short trailer before each featured film. This
year, TIGLFF decided its trailer would star local fans delivering interpretations
of their favorite quotes. The 20 individuals who place the highest bids in the
filmfest's online auction will appear in the “You Oughta be in Pictures” trailer to be
seen by an audience of 15,000 at the October 2011 film festival.
TIGLFF’s president, Ken Hodges, said, “Almost everyone who loves film has a
favorite classic quote from a movie character they love and remember. The film
festival is making it possible for 20 people to fulfill their dream of being filmed
delivering their quote on a big screen.”
Chris Rish, the project producer, said, "When TIGLFF explained the idea to me,
I thought it was genius," said Rish, cinematographer, "I can't think of a more
interesting way to have fun and fundraise for a great cause at the same time."
The auction begins today and ends at midnight on July 31st and is online at
www.tiglff.com/auction. This year’s film festival will take place between October
6th and 16th with films showing at Tampa’s historic Tampa Theater and Muvico
Baywalk in St. Petersburg.
