In October of 1996, the first annual Harvest of Hope dance was held in memory of Phyllis Plotnick’s mother who died of breast cancer. The group planning the dance decided to give the proceeds to the Womyn’s Energy bank to be disbursed among womyn needing mammograms and breast cancer treatments. The following year they decided a fund for a wider variety of health issues was needed and the Sonia Plotnick Health Fund was established.
Our purpose is:
To provide Financial grants for womyn's health care needs.
To promote the health of the Womyn’s community.
To establish not-for-profit programs for the enhancement, well-being, tranquility and general welfare of the womyn’s community, all relating to educational, health and social welfare programs for womyn.
We thank you for supporting the SPHF by attending our events in the greater Tampa Bay area such as :
The SPHF'Lady in Red" Sweetheart Dance
The SPHF Fall Costume Party and Dance
The SPHF 1st Annual Winter Holiday Hat Contest and Dance
Funds generated at these events go to womyn in YOUR community for their health care needs. Thank you for attending our events and thank you for supporting the SPHF.
